IDEA

My recent treasure hunt included a gorgeous blanket with vintage decorations.

The motif and colors reminded me of some of my grandma's tailoring creations.

I set my mind on giving it a new life.

CREATION

I decided to use the same pattern from my previously upcycled coat.

I settled on two contrasting yet compatible fabrics: a blanket with warm tones and timeless decorations, and a leather-looking textile.

RESULTS

The jacket is light enough to be worn in spring or fall. Its length makes it comfortable on a breezy day or a chilly evening.

Never have I ever felt more confident and badass wearing something - the fact that I made it with my own hands boosted my self-esteem and mood even more.

I hope this can be a source of inspiration for other artists or wannabe makers, and evidence that no matter its origin, a fabulous garment can be created from anything and anywhere!
